Terms and ConditionsThis site is owned by Leon Stolarski Fine Wines Limited (hereafter THE MERCHANT) and registered in England, Registration No. 04941259, with registered address at 32 Nottingham Road, Hucknall, Notts NG15 7QE (hereafter THE MERCHANT ADDRESS), and email address at leon@leonstolarskiwines.co.uk . Any purchase of goods from our website leonstolarskiwines.co.uk (hereafter THE MERCHANT SITE) requires the customer to consult and accept these terms and conditions. The click validating the order implies full acceptance of these terms and represents the customer's "digital signature". Delivery other than for local service is by courier. We endeavour to dispatch your wines within 48 hours of receiving your order. Deliveries by carrier are not made on Saturdays, Sundays, or Bank Holidays. Additionally there may be occasional office closures due to holidays etc, and when the normal delivery schedule will not be possible; these will be advised on our website. If this applies, your order may still be placed, and will be processed on our return. However you will be notified by email of any delay, and you will have the option to cancel. Breakages/Damage - wine should be examined on delivery for both condition and completeness/correctness of order. Any problems should be noted on the delivery note, and we should be advised as soon as possible, and at the latest within 48 hours. If it is not possible to inspect the goods on delivery, the carrier's delivery note should be marked "unexamined". Special Delivery Instructions - if you do not expect to be at home to receive your wine when it is delivered, you may leave special delivery instructions (e.g. "leave in shed", "leave behind side gate"). We are happy to pass these instructions to the carriers, however neither we nor the carriers will accept responsibility should for any reason the wines be lost, stolen, or damaged as a result of such instructions being followed. Shipping And Handling Orders sent to multiple addresses will be treated as separate orders for delivery charge purposes. Delivery to addresses in Scottish Highlands and Islands is usually possible, but may not be on a next-working-day basis. For local customers in the Hucknall and Nottingham area, we will deliver free of charge - please call to enquire. For the sake of clarity, anywhere within an 8 mile radius of Hucknall will qualify for free delivery. Back Orders We aim to stock all wines in our list, and replenish stocks of each wine, as and when necessary. However, all products are offered subject to availability. Some of the wines are made in very small quantities and it may not be possible to obtain replacement stocks quickly or even at all. You will always receive precisely the wines you ordered. In the event that a particular wine is not available, we will contact you to discuss alternatives (possibly including an alternative vintage of the same wine), or alternatively you may wish to wait until stocks are available. You will always be contacted with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. Tax Charges All wine prices on this website are U.K duty paid and include VAT at 20%. Guarantee Wine is a living, breathing thing and can sometimes therefore be unpredictable. We offer a guarantee of quality; if any wine proves to be corked*, or in any other way faulty as a result of the winemaking process, we will generally either replace it or provide an alternative wine or, if you prefer, issue a refund or credit note to the value of the purchase price. We do not necessarily apply a time limit on this guarantee - we have great confidence in the wines we sell, which range from those ideal for immediate drinking right through to those that can age for many years. Please note, however, that the description of each wine in our online shop includes a projected "drinking window", being what we consider to be an accurate assessment of the wine's ability to age. If a wine has exceeded this "window" by the time you choose to drink it, we will not be liable to either replace it or give a refund. Other than this, we place a great deal of trust in the integrity of our customers - all we ask is that common sense should prevail in deciding whether what is in the bottle is truly faulty (as a result of the winemaking process) or simply the result of poor storage conditions by the customer. If you have any questions or comments regarding our guarantee policy, or wish to report a faulty wine, please contact us by telephone, letter or e-mail, and we will do our best to respond as quickly as possible. About "corked" wine....... Should you find a bottle which displays mould, wet cardboard or similar musty or "metallic" taint, it is a classic sign that the wine is corked. Trichloroanisole, otherwise known as TCA, is a compound associated with cork and wood treatments that can make a wine smell, and taste, anything from slightly muted to very mouldy, and can occur in varying degrees. Exposure to air normally accentuates the problem. We are all different, and some people will have a greater "sensitivity" to TCA than others; the experienced may spot it immediately, whilst others may put it down to an "off" (or just plain bad) bottle. We at Leon Stolarski Fine Wines only sell wines from quality-minded growers, who take great pride in their products, all the way from the vine to the bottle. But even the use of the best possible cork closures cannot always guarantee against TCA. So please don't blame the wine itself! We want our customers to keep returning, so if you encounter a problem, please call us to arrange a replacement/alternative/refund/credit, and we will do our best to rectify the problem. Warning - you must be aged 18 or over It is an offence to purchase or attempt to purchase alcohol if you are under the age of 18. (Section 149 Licensing Act 2003).We reserve the right to seek proof of age. Leon Stolarski says "drink less, but drink better!" Please consume alcohol in moderation. |
